on the bright side, two of my closest friends slept over. we stayed up almost all night playing card games, baring our souls, and talking ab the most nonsensical bullshit. there's smth uniquely comforting ab knowing someone so deeply when the care and affection between you isn't centred around sexual attraction or romance. not trying to say that romantic love is less than - far from it! i'm too inexperienced in that regard to even make a nuanced comparison, but i do feel like platonic intimacy, especially in my generation, gets overlooked bc romantic relationships are usually treated as the "highest" form of connection by default :-(
