i can't tell if i like or hate this album. maybe a mix of both? it's chaotic, unpredictable, and exactly how i imagine being on crack cocaine would feel. despite that, i find myself coming back to certain tracks. #Guilty! 2.5 stars for the instrumentals and samples, they're cool and weirdly addictive to listen to? overall though, i don't think this is for me.

i have no idea why this album didn't click with me at first, but i'm currently obsessed with it. i love the trip-hop influence in 'tequila coma', and the acoustic elements in '1967' are so, so lovely. of course, the visuals are also insane, but that's to be expected. yeule is so talented! my only complaint is that the album feels kinda short, but i'll take what i can get.

aurally and visually stunning! i love how the music videos are reminiscent of the early 2000s -- 'vampire' in particular. 'any noise' is my favourite by far, though. i love the grainy, hand-held cinematography.

wow! PJ harvey, the woman you are! i'm pissed i didn't listen to this album in its entirety sooner. super gritty and rough and dark, but in the best way possible? kinda reminds me of the heavier rock side of fiona apple, if that makes sense.

very charming. i love the use of the synth throughout the album. the way the tone shifts is really captivating -- introspective and subdued at times, then upbeat and lively at others. i loved it. consistently beautiful all round!

halcali
halcali is a j-pop, hip-hop duo composed of haruka and yukari. "halcali" is actually a combination of their names -- "halca" + "yucali". even though i don't listen to them anymore, this duo will always be dear to me! they're what started this all. #halcalic!
